Author’s Note 2:  I know the show has referred to Alex’s mother, but I don’t recall an actual name ever being used.  If anyone remembers a name, or if I inadvertently borrowed the name I used from another fic writer, let me know and I’ll be happy to change it here.  This story is obviously set preceding Mrs. Cabot's death as mentioned by Alex in the episode Ghost.
